Apparently this fall is the moment all my favorite forgotten post-rock bands decided to release a new album after a long departure from the stage. Balmorhea. Caspian. The Album Leaf. Mono. And yesterday, Hammock, with Departure Songs, a 19-track double album that you can download for a measly $12 at their website here. Yes, 19 tracks of amazing music. And you know, if you just want to sample first, they are offering "name your price" downloads of as many tracks as you want. Oh, and there's a new video out too. See below. It's almost like they were listening to me when I suggested that bands make every effort to make their music as easy to access as getting it for free, thereby (hopefully) getting appreciative listeners to buy their stuff instead of just stealing it. Good on them. And this is a great album.

Really enjoying this album. It's a little bit more aggressive than the stuff of their's that I have liked in the past. Which makes for a few songs that are too busy. But the good songs are really REALLY good.
