Our taxes are at the lowest point that they've been since 1950. Our economy is worse than its been since the Depression. And yet, Republicans have convinced a small but vocal minority of our citizens that taxes are the reason for our economic demise. And that President Obama's tax policies have kept corporations from hiring. And these idiots believe it. Our federal taxes are lower than they were under George W. Bush by nearly 13%. I just can't comprehend the massive stupidity that passes for political discourse these days, but this picture sums it up pretty well.
Meanwhile, Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren, who is fast becoming my new hero in the fight for sanity in our politics since so many others have gone insane, perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the above sentiment in this quote from last week below... this is what our democracy is supposed to be about, not the above. And the above sentiment has been ruling our political discourse for too damn long.
And here's a news report on Wednesday's protest (part of continuing protests going on right now), "shockingly" not from an American news network (all of whom are owned by the same major corporations that are being protested against), who haven't really bothered to notice yet.
