A limited selection of new tracks are out this week, so some of these go back a couple weeks.
- From The Decemberists' Always the Bridesmaid collection of 12" singles coming out this fall. This is from Volume 1, also available via digital download on iTunes. The other track on the download, "O New England" is one of their best tracks in years.
- Final Fantasy released a couple EPs in the last two months, The Spectrum, 14th Century and Pays to Please. This track comes from the latter.
- Frightened Rabbit released a live, semi-acoustic album of tracks exclusively from The Midnight Organ Fight. It's called Liver! Lung! FR! and is available now.
- Deerhunter's latest Microcastle came out this week.
Shearwater's latest release is an EP called Snow Leopard, available now.
- A MGMT cover of an MGMT song. I never got into the album but I've got to admit that I do love this song. This version was apparently an earlier less studio-polish version of "Kids" and I really think it's great.
- Holy Fuck does a cover of Foals' "Balloons" off a new split tour 12". Foals does a cover of Holy Fuck's "Super Inuit" on the same album.
- Parts & Labor's latest release Receivers is available now on Jagjaguwar.
- And last but not least, Conor Oberst of my #4 favorite band on my continuing list is currently on his solo tour and has released a four song tour-only EP called Gentlemen's Pact. The title track is below.
