Well, it seems clear that the Vague Space endorsement of Barack Obama last Tuesday has helped him steamroll to victories over Hillary Clinton this past week, setting him up for what appears likely to be a landslide victory over Republican nominee John McCain this fall. All I'd like to say to Senator Obama is that in return for the endorsement, I'll take the ambassadorship to some warm island nation because it's been fucking freezing in New Jersey this week and I need to get out. I know I've been an outspoken opponent of global warming -- wait, that's not right, no one's really in favor of global warming; I guess I'm an opponent of idiotic disbelief in its existence, but I must say I didn't really mind that January was one of the warmest Januarys in history here in the Northeast and that we -- or at least Central Park -- got zero inches of snow for only the second time in recorded history. That was kind of nice. The -15 wind chills on Monday morning? Less nice. But congratulations to Senator Obama, as I'm sure he'll tackle the environmental mess that Bush has spent 8 years ignoring as soon as he takes over the presidency next January -- after of course he fixes the mess in Iraq and the mess with our economy and the mess with government corruption and the mess with our education system and the complete and utter disaster that is our health care system. He has a lot on his plate. Why does he want this job again? And why does McCain? Jesus, I hope I'm retired when I'm 77 years old. I hope I'm retired when I'm 47 and a bestselling author. Not realistic? Well, it's about as realistic as McCain's chances this fall -- did you see his speech coming right after Obama's on Tuesday night? The difference was staggering. MSNBC's Keith Olbermann put it nicely, "One thing Senator McCain needs to know is just to never again be the one following an Obama speech." I really felt bad for the guy. Obama is truly an amazing orator. I'm actually excited about politics for the first time in longer than I can even remember.
- In the post-Super Tuesday contests, these are Obama's margins over Hillary:
DC +51
Washington +37
Nebraska +36
Virginia +29
Maryland +23
Louisiana +21
Maine +19 - Wow. Anyway, these songs are for Barack. Congratulations.

I've been watching politics a long time and that segue from Obama to McCain and then the stunned look on Olberman's face was one of the most amazing moments I've seen. Olberman actually did a follow-up about it on Countdown tonight.
