Welcome to the new year with a blast of new music, including tracks from Radiohead's In Rainbows 2nd CD of extra tracks that came out with the boxed set and a couple other gems from artists you should hear a lot more from in 2008. And I agree with almost everyone who questions why "4 Minute Warning" wasn't on the Radiohead proper release, since it's one of their best tracks in years.

This is just a nightmare
Soon I'm going to wake up
Someone's going to bring me around
Running from the bombers
Hiding in the forest
Running through the field
Laying flat on the ground
Just like everybody
Stepping over heads
Running through the underground
This is your warning
Four minute warning
I don't want to hear it
I don't want to know
I just want to run and hide
This is just a nightmare
Soon I'm going to wake up
Someone's going to bring me around
This is a warning
Four minute warning
Okkervil River also had a bunch of unreleased extra racks to give to the fans, but instead of slapping them into an expensive box set, they put them online for everyone to download. You can get the whole collection here. This is one of the better tracks.
And speaking of unreleased tracks, here's a couple truly unreleased tracks, demos that Explosions in the Sky made during the recording of the Friday Night Lights soundtrack. These are some gems as well, including yet another version of one of their greatest tracks ever, "Your Hand in Mine."
And finally, these songs are not exactly new, but I didn't know of this band until I found them on some year-end list of favorites from websites I like and gave them a shot. In the immortal words of Larry David, "pretty, pretty good." Buy Anytown Graffiti from Pela.
