Ok, it's been beautiful here in New Jersey this weekend, despite this being the first week of January. And besides a few short days with temperatures that dipped into the 30s, the expected winter weather has not arrived yet this year. I doubt that this is scientific proof of the existence of global warming, and the long-term dire consequences of that would certainly outweigh the short-term delights of one particularly warm weekend, but even I must admit to enjoying wearing shorts in January. But when you come back inside after experiencing the weather, please take a look at Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, and realize that this weather may not be happening in a vaccuum.

While on the subject of weather related music I'd add a few of my personal favorites "Couldn't Stand the Weather" by Stevie Ray Vaughan, "Birdland" by Weather Report, "Rain in the Summertime" by The Alarm, "No Rain" by Blind Melon, "Rain King" by Counting Crows.

I was shocked to see that I do have The Alarm's "Rain in the Summertime" in my collection. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit into the theme of the post even though it is raining right now. The other Ira selections, alas, I do not have.

Thanks to Al Gore and global warming, softball practice is scheduled for Saturday, January 27th at 9:00AM at The Municipal Complex in Edison. Look forward to seeing all of The Rounders, Mercy Rule, and Gross & Associates there.

I thought you and Rudnick had plans that day?
