Truth be told, I'm kind of sick of Christmas music. Not this year, necessarily - hell, we barely just entered December. And yes, I know I shouldn't be saying "hell" in a Christmas-themed post, but fuck it I just read Letter to a Christian Nation by atheist Sam Harris, and found it rather illuminating. So I'm pretty sure that God doesn't exist, or that he hates me right now anyway. On the bright side, he hates the Jews more, right? (hey, who let Mel Gibson in here?) Anyway, Christmas music is kind of blah, played-out, boring, done-to-death, you know the drill, and the fact that there are literally hundreds of music stations across the country who play nothing but these incessant borefests for an entire fucking month is ridiculous. I would say that's why I don't listen to FM radio anymore (and haven't for a year now - woo hoo!), but Sirius has like 3 stations playing all Christmas, all the time, so maybe I shouldn't judge.
My point? I don't know. Christmas music sucks, but we still have Sufjan. And he rules, and his Songs for Christmas 5 CD collection is an amazing collection of holiday tracks, which I would highly recommend buying here. I've thrown in some other non-Sufjan songs that are better than the usual Christmas fare as well. Happy something or other. I'll try to cheer up by the 25th.
