As some of you are aware, I was recently accepted into graduate school, where I will be pursuing an MA in Writing. Yes, a degree in what I'm doing write right now, and which I've been doing for 18 months on this blog. I'd written a lot of fiction before starting this blog, and somewhere in the back of my mind, I hoped that Vague Space could help open up paying gigs in the publishing field, but it hasn't exactly made me any money yet, so I decided to go a more traditional route. We'll see where it leads but for the immediate future, I will be enrolled in a graduate course, which will presumably demand a lot of my free time, especially the free time I spend writing. So the casualty could be this blog, or the frequency of posting to the blog. It's been going strong for 18 months, something I would never have believed when I started this thing, and it's grown from a miniscule following among a few friends to a success I couldn't have imagined - averaging 80 unique users and close to 200 total visits a day. But it hasn't translated into success yet, or certainly not a career in the writing field, and that is something I want to pursue now that I have the chance. So thank you to all my readers - frequent and otherwise, and I hope to keep posting as frequently as always, but after September 5th, you might see a significant decrease. I can't really say for sure at this point, but that seems likely. On the bright side, maybe the writing on the posts will improve. And for that, we could all be thankful.

Not if I could write for you, the sweetest song you ever heard. It doesn't matter what I do, not for all my little words.
Your choosing to better yourself and advance your career with graduate school over keeping your friends occupied reading the daily blog is a flat out disgrace. I know Lauren will not be happy about this.

I'm sorry, Cheesesteak. But seeing the "Your" instead of "You're" in "your" opening sentence just confirms that we need better writing in the world.

What does it say about the honeymoon that he's posting to this blog? Odds that Amy is still with him?

Knick-Knack Rebate!
Posted by: LegFuJohnson | August 25, 2006 at 05:08 PM
just for the record...post # 1 is not me. from the look of it, it must be jan. Of course I understand why you would think its me from the bad grammer. Yes its been a bad 10 days and I never thought I would say this but I miss Rudnick even though me and Bill have gotten closer. Amy left Italy 3 days ago with but Rudnick stayed because he was winning at BBM.
If I see Knick Knack rebate one more time I am killing Lenny.
Bill, I cant believe you are ending the Blog..please say it aint so

The blog is not ending. I really don't know what my schedule will be like, so I'm just warning in advance not to expect daily updates. Other than that, everything should be the same. At least for another week or so.

Bill-thanks for taking some of the pressure off of me for the last 10 days--otherwise Matt and I might have actually would have had to speak to each other- and I DO NOT want to hear about BBM
Better you than me--he has been exceptionally crabby the last 10 days without his buddy
Thankfully for both of us- Rudnick will be home tomorrow
In closing-
F BBM
F Fantasy Fooball-the Koren League and the other one
and F Rudnick for going away for so long
Bill--good luck in Grad school--although I don't think your writing could get much better than it already is--I mean that in a good way

One of the best posts in Vague Space history...

Robyn definitely takes the prize for greatest comment in Vague Space history. I might not ever post again just to have this remain there.
