I know very little about Jens Lekman. I know he's a singer/songwriter who hails from Sweden, has released several EPs since 2003 and has combined/re-released the songs from those EPs onto an album that came out earlier this month, Oh You're So Silent, Jens. The album got a great review at Pitchfork and his tracks have bounced around the Internet in what is basically a dead month for new album releases. Some of them are good. Some are less so. And I can really make out the Stephen Merritt comparisons (it certainly sounds like he's channeling the Magnetic Fields - right down to the widely varied song styles), but I can't make out the Morrissey connection. In either case, one song stands out and blows my mind. It's my #1 song of the week, and is just downright cool. Download and enjoy. And also take a listen to another track from the album below it. Then go buy the CD at Insound.
