This week's episode of Fat Actress featured Kirstie's efforts to become friends with neighbor Gwen Stefani in order to attract Kid Rock (long story, don't ask). But an attempt to kidnap Gwen's dachshund goes awry when it turns out the dog instead belongs to another neighbor, Mayim Bialik. Yes, of Blossom fame. Which prompts a series of Blossom jokes throughout the episode. Kirstie and Mayim do not get along, though, and after a pleasant exchange of "Fuck you, fatso!" and "Fuck you, Blossom!", Kirstie is forced to try other methods at securing Gwen's friendship.
Her assistant attempts to befriend another neighbor, played by Kevin Nealon, but is instead mistaken for a hooker. "So you're not a hooker, you're a pimp?" "Yeah." "That's a good move. That's where the money is." And her other assistant attempts to befriend Blossom. "Is that Blossom? She's got it going on." And I know this show is supposed to poke humorous fun at fat people, but Blossom - she has really let herself go. If you thought Kirstie was fat, just wait until you see this big-nosed blimp trying to dance. Oh, did I say that out loud?
Anyway, Kirstie ends up getting arrested as part of a gay sex raid (again, don't ask) and ends up pretending she's a lesbian to get out of jail (Please, please don't ask). In the end, she doesn't ever meet Gwen and is still confused about why she was arrrested, but on the bright side, her assistant does bed Blossom.
- Can you do me a favor?
- I just had sex with you, isn't that favor enough?
And so ends a very special Blossom... I mean Fat Actress. Actually, that's really the same thing at this point.
Bill:
Thanks so much for your kind comments on my blog.
Re: Blossom. I don't get Showtime, but are you absolutely sure she wasn't wearing a fat suit or something? I saw a "Where are they now" thing a couple years ago about her and Six, and Blossom looked pretty hot. She actually a really serious, non show-business person. She's a scientist or something, and does a bunch of stuff for her Synagogue. It's distressing to think that she's on Fat Actress now, and is a fat actress now.

You might be right, Eric. Because her face didn't look all that fat at all, but from the neck down she was quite heavy indeed. She was in the previews for the next episode and may be a recurring character, so I'll take another look. And I can't believe we're discussing "Blossom". I think the blog has reached a new low point (trumping my frequently cited review of "Vanilla Frosted Mini-Wheats").
